Maybe this is because I'm young (It may be) but I really don't understand this constant battle with a desire to be young.
Why are people constantly finding ways to extend life? Now i understand combatting disease and things that end your life early, but this seemingly endless quest for the extension of life beyond what would be considered natural is just bizzare.
Death is a natural part of life. To the unknowing, perhaps the 'beyond' is much better than the here... so why are they always fighting it so hard? craziness.
I am writing to express my concern at Harold Koh's nomination to State Department Legal Advisor. After reading his own comments on his political and legal views, I believe his confirmation would lead to further weakening of the US constitution, and federal adherence to constitutional law. Whether he would intentionally weaken the constitution out of malice may be up for debate, but I believe his basic political views would inevitably lead to this end.
I would like to encourage you to please vote against his confirmation. While many of your peers in the Senate believe a President should be entitled to his nominees, I believe that entitlement only holds true if the nominee will help the president to uphold the constitution. If his nominee prefers international law to constitutional law, as this nominee does, or leans towards any other unconstitutional or treasonous opinion, I believe the Senate must act as the constitutional check and balance to said dangerous nominations.
