"It is an office -- it's just a quasi-government office for planning the takeover of the government," said Stephen J. Wayne, a professor at Georgetown University's department of government.
Exactly.
lol I saw some picture of him on Yahoo! News standing in front of that "Office of the President Elect" - Honestly the first thing I thought was of some little kid playing dress up, or playing in their plastic fisher price kitchen.
I don't mean to be disrespectful, since I really do hold the highest of respect for the honor of the Office of President of the United States. However, as the article states: he's powerless currently - and all of that crap is just fluff.
But hey - whatever gets his supporters happy, I guess.
I am writing to express my concern at Harold Koh's nomination to State Department Legal Advisor. After reading his own comments on his political and legal views, I believe his confirmation would lead to further weakening of the US constitution, and federal adherence to constitutional law. Whether he would intentionally weaken the constitution out of malice may be up for debate, but I believe his basic political views would inevitably lead to this end.
I would like to encourage you to please vote against his confirmation. While many of your peers in the Senate believe a President should be entitled to his nominees, I believe that entitlement only holds true if the nominee will help the president to uphold the constitution. If his nominee prefers international law to constitutional law, as this nominee does, or leans towards any other unconstitutional or treasonous opinion, I believe the Senate must act as the constitutional check and balance to said dangerous nominations.
